Unsold Indian Players in IPL 2023: IPL 2023 Auction at a Glance
As we all know that the TATA IPL 2023 Player Auction was held in Kochi, India. The total number of players who could be sold through auction were 80 (of which 29 players were from overseas cricket-playing nations). Notably, the total amount spent on buying the players was INR 1,67,00,00,000 for all the 10 teams. There were Unsold Indian Players in IPL 2023 too.
Unsold Indian Players in IPL 2023
There were plyers who were paid highest ever in the IPL history in the IPL 2023 auction. Scores of players were bought from India and overseas, but there were players who could not make it to the IPL 2023 tournament and hence were Unsold Indian Players in IPL 2023. The number of unsold players were 325, of which 223 were Indian cricketers who were unfortunately not included in any of the 10 teams.
As you can notice from the below table 9 players who could not be sold were with the base price of INR 50 lakhs. Two players in this list were with base price of INR 30 lakhs.
The majority of Indian cricketers (212) who could not be sold were in the base price of INR 20 lakhs.

Summary
Although 325 cricketers were Unsold Indian Players in IPL 2023 auction, most notable was the UK all-rounder Sam Curran, who was bought by Punjab Kings at a whopping price of INR 18.50 Crore, the highest ever for any player in the IPL history. Next two cricketers were Cameron Green and Ben Stokes, who were bought by Mumbai Indians for INR 17.50 Crore and Chennai Super Kings for 16.25 Crore, respectively. So, gear up for the spectacular and entertaining session of IPL 2023 starting March 31, 2023.
